  7. Hi. Thanks for stopping by my blog and following. I’m now following you also and am looking forward to looking around your blog. I’ll admit I have days when I prefer not to answer the phone. I simply don’t want to talk with anyone. I wouldn’t answer the phone when I didn’t want to be bothered but I know it would wake-up my husband so I go ahead and deal with whatever is on the other end.

  8. The phone ringing gives us a false sense of urgency. How many times did I hurt myself or almost crash my car because I thought it was important and I found out it was a solicitor or a weather update. I have been really trying not to answer it unless I am immobile and able to answer it without hurting myself or someone else. It also drives me nuts when people answer the phone while we are talking to each other. What?!

  9. I think the day will come when making a direct voice call will seem ill mannered and intrusive. Unless there’s some kind of emergency. I like skype, where there’s a smooth progression from email to voice to video once you get settled. And texts are fine. The worst anxiety ever comes from a radio paging bleep going off. Thankfully these are now extinct. Best wishes,

  10. If I don’t recognize the number I absolutely don’t answer the phone. My husband always says, “what if my cell phone dies, and I call from a payphone?” To which I say, “But you’re right here.”
